God has given us MUCH…

Over the past years of revitalisation at Crossway Church, God has given us so much. In just the past three years, we’ve seen…

  • over 130 individuals (adults & children) with us regularly on Sundays
  • up to 50 children in our Sunday clubs
  • 30 new members in the last three years
  • at least 20 different nationalities worshipping with us each week
  • 8 baptisms in the last three years

And those are just some of the blessings that we can count. It’s not possible to put a “number” on many of the things that matter most: for example, faith, love, hope, unity. We’re also aware that much fruit from our ongoing ministries won’t be seen for years to come. God has given us MUCH.

But we want MORE…

It would be tempting to treat MORE like a dirty word; it can sound ungrateful and greedy. But MORE is a very biblical word: like Paul (in the bible verse shown), we want MORE!

  • MORE people to encounter God’s grace
  • MORE thanksgiving to explode in their lives
  • MORE glory to go to our God

And that’s why we are “Building for MORE”…

We can EXPAND current ministries

We currently run a range of ministries in our building, in addition to our Sunday services: Jolly Tots (stay & play group); Funky Friday (community group for primary school children); Connect (community group for secondary school children); Daytime Life Group; community family events (incl. half-term holiday club; summer BBQ). Our building is also used by a local charity (Acacia), other Christian organisations, and members of the local community (e.g. birthday parties, baby showers).

We can EXPLORE new ministries

Opportunities with a new building include:

  • a warm space/drop in
  • centre community cafe
  • safe space for young people (e.g. afterschool drop-in; homework clubs)
  • courses for the family (e.g. NCT; baby
    sensory)
  • community meals or lunch club (weekly;
    Christmas etc.)
  • debt advice centre
  • swop shop
  • “English as a Second Language” classes

What is it likely to cost?

Currently, we expect the building work to cost somewhere between £1.75m to £2m. This would include all architect fees, construction costs, and building materials, alongside the costs of a capital project (e.g. postage and printing costs for fundraising; venue hire during our time without a building). A more precise estimate will be provided in the next stage of the design process by a Quantity Surveyor.

When is it likely to happen?

Any timeline is sure to change, but if everything went completely to plan, it might look something like this…

PRAY regularly for God to provide MORE

Will you commit to praying for MORE? Make use of the resources & opportunities provided to call on the name of the Lord to provide.

GIVE generously towards building for MORE

We’re asking every regular (both adults and children) at Crossway Church to consider carefully what they can give towards this vision, and to give generously and sacrificially towards this vision in addition to any regular giving to the general ministry
of Crossway.

To submit a pledge you can complete the form online using the following QR code or URL: https://forms.gle/NXSqDH5QjKLsUVRj8

Additionally, some of you might consider leaving a legacy to Crossway in your will. Gifts like this can enable churches to invest in bigger projects that they might not be able to do from their regular income. “Building for MORE” will likely involve us taking a mortgage as a church: your legacy could free up the church of the future by helping to pay that loan down more quickly.

SPEAK openly about our desire to build for MORE

Do you know people who might be interested in supporting what we’re doing? Let them know what’s going on at Crossway and point them to our this webpage http://www.crossway.org.uk/building-for-more
